Activate Emergency Tracking

Emergency Tracking lets you receive status reports more frequently for untethered trailers over a specified period of time in emergency situations such as stolen trailers. If the trailer is not connected to external power, it may take up to 6 hours before the trailer responds to emergency tracking activation or changes.

Note: Use of Emergency Tracking increases messaging costs and may drain the terminal's battery more quickly. You must have permission to activate Emergency Tracking.

To activate Emergency Tracking

  1. On the Trailers tab, locate the trailer to activate and click to select it.
The map zooms to its location and its details open below the map.
  2. On the Overview tab, click Activate next to Emergency Tracking in the lower right corner.
  3. Select the Status Report Interval.
  4. Select the deactivate after interval.
This is the elapsed time after which Emergency Tracking is deactivated if the trailer has not moved.
  5. Type one or more email addresses of users to receive notification when status reports are received, and click Add.
  6. Click Save.
Active (N min interval pending) or Active (N hour interval pending) appears next to Emergency Tracking. After the terminal acknowledges the new status, it no longer says "pending."

Other Emergency Tracking states include:

  • Inactive: The trailer is not under emergency tracking.
  • Active (N min/hour interval failed): The parameters failed.

To deactivate Emergency Tracking

  1. Locate the trailer to deactivate and click its ID. Emergency Tracking identifies trailers under Emergency Tracking.
  2. On the Overview tab, click the link next to Emergency Tracking in the lower right corner.
  3. Click Deactivate.
