Changing Default Vehicle Settings

Your vehicles are automatically created in QTRACS software when they go on the air. Auto-created vehicles get default settings, such as the coverage, from the default vehicle. You can change the default settings as needed.

You must have permission to set up vehicles to change default vehicle settings.

The information below your name on the right tells you which assets you are authorized to view based on group membership, and which are currently selected. Click the linked text to change the viewed vehicles, if you are a member of more than one coverage and/or global group.

  1. Click the Setup tab. Set Up Vehicles opens.
  2. Click Edit Default Vehicle.
  3. Check the types of vehicles your fleet contains: IVG (Omnitracs Intelligent Vehicle Gateway), MCP50 , all other MCP units (MCP200, MCP110, MCP100), TMCT (OmniExpress units), and MCT (OmniTRACS units). The list of settings is adjusted based on the settings used with the types of units in your fleet. For example, position archiving settings do not apply to any MCP-series units.
  4. Fill out the desired default settings. For detailed information about specific fields, click ? for the section you're changing.
  5. Click Save to save your changes.
The new settings apply to future vehicles that are auto-created. It does not change the settings for any existing vehicles.
