User Settings - Basic Information
The General User Settings - Basic Information section lets you view and change information such as the user's name and e-mail address.
Users can modify their preferences, such as the number of items to see in lists. Text fields can't contain the following characters: ^ \ " [ ] { } ~ `
- User ID
- The unique ID with which the user logs in.
Note: Use the letters A through Z; numbers 0 through 9; dash ( - ) and underscore ( _ ) characters. Spaces are not allowed and the first character can't be an asterisk ( * ).
- First/Last name
- The first and last name of the user. A user can change these fields if they were entered incorrectly.
- Require e-mail entry on next login
- Check to clear the e-mail address for the user and make him or her enter it at the next login. This enables you to create a new user when you don't know his or her e-mail address.
- The full e-mail address of the user, such as "jsmith@company.com." A user can update his/her email address.
- Pager e-mail
- The full e-mail address that sends messages to the user's pager. A user can update his/her pager e-mail address.
- Role
- The role of the user. Admin is a reserved role; users assigned this role have permission to perform all tasks in all Services Portal applications that you use. Other roles are created by your company and are assigned specific permissions. Only a user with the admin role can change this field.
- Customize time-zone settings
- If checked, indicates that this user is in a different time zone from the main office and wishes to see time stamps for messages, positions, events, and alerts in his/her local time.
- Time zone
- The user's time zone, if different from the main office. This field is available only if the previous field is checked.
- Observe Daylight Saving Time
- If checked, indicates that this user's time zone observes daylight savings time. The system automatically adjusts time stamps for daylight savings time. This field is available if the Customize time zone settings field is checked.
